Here in this post we are publishing 10 FAQ about PMS and PPSC. You may also ask us anyquestion regarding PPSC, PMS, CSS and PCS.

Q.NO.1.
What is PMS?

ANSWER-PMS stands for provincial management services. Provincial Public ServiceCommissions (PPSC) of provinces conduct PMS exams to select the officers for provincial management service. PPSC don’t conduct the PMS exams a every year but it is conducted when there are vacant posts in provincial management services.

Q.NO2.
What is the structure of format provincial management service exams?
ANSWER-There are six compulsory subjects carrying 100 marks each. Every candidate will also choose 3 optional subjects from 7 different groups and 30 different subjects carrying 200 marks each. A candidate can select only one subject from each group. Thus total marks for the PMS written exams will be 1200 Marks. Psychological test and interview carries 200 marks.

Which are the optional subjects in PMS exams?
ANSWER-All candidates have to select three optional subjects of total 600 marks from the following subjects.

A candidate can select only one subject from each group. All subjects carry equal marks i.e 200.

Q.NO.5.
Whether females and minorities are eligible for PMS examination?

ANSWER-Of Course, females and minority candidates are eligible to appear in PMS exams.

Q.NO.6.
How many attempts can I make for PMS examination?

ANSWER-You can make three attempts for provincial management services exams.

Q.NO7.
How should I choose the optional subject?

ANSWER-For subject selection, there are no any hard and fast rules, still these are some tips based on common sense;
Try to choose subjects that you have studied before in your graduation and master degrees.
Don’t select easy subjects, try to choose scoring ones.
Science subjects are considered scoring subjects.
Avoid English literature, if you are not MA English.
Arabic, Punjabi, Persian and agriculture are usually considered high scoring subjects.
Majority of candidates choose Indo-Pak History but its better to select other history subjects as Indo-Pak History is considered a low scoring subject.

Q.NO8.
What is the eligibility criteria for PMS examination?

ANSWER-Candidate should be the citizen of Pakistan and must have the domicile of anydistrict of Punjab province.
Only graduates with second division can apply for PMS. At present lower age limit is 21 years and upper age limit is 28 years.

Q.NO.9.
What are the passing marks in PMS?

ANSWER-The candidate must get 33 percent marks in each written paper. Over all aggregate marks should not be above 50 %.
